Five held for selling fake gold in Kathmandu
KATHMANDU: At least five persons were arrested for their alleged involvement in selling fake gold from Bouddha in KMC-16, on Monday, Metropolitan Crime Divison said in a press statement.
Issuing the statement today, MCD said, acting on a tip-off, a police team deployed from the division raided MS Jewellery Shop at Pipalbot in Bouddha and seized the fake yellow metal in biscuit shape.
Subsequently, police apprehended Tinu Ghimire Pant, 39, of Bharatpur Metropolis-8, Susmita Acharya, 34, of KMC-30, Umesh Sunar, 22, of Sindhupalchowk, Jivan Dhami Chaudhary of Sunsari district, and Jambu Lama, 65, of Gorkha district from assorted locations in Kathmandu valley on Monday.
Meanwhile, an investigation into the case is underway, police said.
