KATHMANDU: Five persons were arrested in possession of dices made up of tusker ivories from Chabahil of Kathmandu on Tuesday.

The four men and a woman were held for possessing the dices made up of ivories of elephants, a protected animal.

The arrestees have been identified as Bishal Bohara (25) from Tekanpur-4 of Sindhupalchok, Aakesh Bhandari from Neulapur-5 of Bardiya, Manoj Basnet (24) from Betali-5 of Ramechhap, Bishal Karki (21) from Gumdel-7 of Ramechhap and Sabita Pradhan (40) from Sanepa of Lalitpur.

A team deployed from the Central Investigation Bureau had nabbed them from Gangahiti, Chabahil, KMC-7 with 19 dices yesterday.

They have been handed over to the Hattisar-based District Forests Office for further investigations and actions.
