KATHMANDU, JANUARY 21
Five individuals from diverse professional fields were honoured with the Skill Hero Award 2026 at the closing ceremony of Skill Week 2026, organised by Glocal After School, in Lalitpur on Monday.
The seventh edition of Skill Week concluded at The Plaza, Lalitpur, following a week of workshops, exhibitions, competitions and career-focused programmes aimed at promoting skill development among youth.
The Skill Hero Award recognises contributions to skill promotion and workforce development in key sectors. This year's awardees were selected from Tourism and Hospitality, Art and Culture, Entrepreneurship, Science and Technology, and Apprenticeship.
The recipients included Rishab Agrawal for Tourism and Hospitality, Kishor Kayastha for Art and Culture, Anushka Shrestha for Entrepreneurship, and Samir Phuyal for Science and Technology. Sonam Nembang was recognised for her performance in apprenticeship-based skill development.
According to the organisers, the awardees were selected based on their professional experience, skill application and contribution to their respective sectors.
Skill Week 2026 featured events focused on four broad skill areas-art and culture, entrepreneurship, tourism and hospitality, and science and technology. The programme also included job and career fairs, panel discussions and interactive learning sessions.
