KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 6

Chandra Prasad Dhakal, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and honorary consul of Indonesia to Nepal, received the 'Caraka Buwana Award' from the Indonesian government. The award, conferred by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, recognizes individuals who have made exceptional contributions to fostering bilateral relations with Indonesia.

The Indonesian Ambassador to Nepal, Heru H. Subolo, presented the award during a special ceremony in Kathmandu on Tuesday.

Ambassador Subolo praised Dhakal for his commitment to strengthening ties between Nepal and Indonesia, highlighting Dhakal's contributions in promoting tourism, cultural exchange, and economic collaboration. "President Dhakal's unwavering commitment has significantly strengthened our nations' bond, fostering a collaborative spirit that benefits both countries," said Ambassador Subolo during the event.

During the program, Dhakal expressed his gratitude and emphasized that the award serves as an inspiration to further mutual growth and prosperity between Nepal and Indonesia.

Dhakal also highlighted two key agreements between Nepal and Indonesia: the Bilateral Consultation Mechanism and the Visa Exemption Agreement for diplomatic and official passport holders, signed during the 79th UN General Assembly session. "I am especially encouraged by these agreements. They will strengthen diplomatic ties, facilitate official travel, and lay the foundation for enhanced economic cooperation, tourism, and regional collaboration," he stated.

He also noted the increasing popularity of Indonesia, especially Bali, among Nepalese travelers and suggested an on-arrival visa for Nepalese tourists.

The event drew officials from Nepal's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ambassadors, and other dignitaries.

Dhakal has been Indonesia's honorary consul in Nepal since 2010.
