FNJ expels 14 members

Kathmandu, March 10:

The Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ) today announced that it has expelled 14 members and suspended some other members for six months for anti-institutional acts.

After a two-day meeting, FNJ expelled P Kharel, Jasuda Pradhan, Jibram Bhandari, Ram Prasad Khanal and others for attacking the FNJ institutionally.

The FNJ also suspended some other members for six months for not following duties as FNJ members The meeting also declared further programmes against “anarchy” and for protection of the right to information.

The meeting also showed gratitude to the journalists who have been professional by sticking to the right to information and freedom of speech despite repeated attacks.
