KATHMANDU: Former Nepali Ambassador to Bangladesh, Pradeep Kumar Khatiwada, passed away on Monday evening.

Khatiwada (68) was suffering from throat cancer since long, said Khatiwada's sister, Prativa Subedi. Final rites of Khatiwada were performed at Pashupati Aryaghat on Monday itself.

The former Ambassador, who had served as officiating Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for few months, had served in different countries as diplomat for around three decades.

Khatiwada is survived by his wife.
