Former Chief Election Commissioner Shah no more
KATHMANDU: Former Chief Election Commissioner Sundar Prasad Shah passed away on Sunday night. He was 83.
Shah suffered from tumour in his throat. He breathed his last at the Norvic International Hospital, according to his son Sanjeev Prasad Shah.
Shah had served as Secretary at the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Home Ministry.
After getting retirement from civil service, he also served as Treasurer at the Pashupati Area Development Trust and Standing Committee Member at the then Royal Council (Rajparishad) and Chief Election Commissioner.
He is survived by a son and a daughter.
Shah was cremated at the Pashupati Aryaghat today.
