Former lawmakers want their experience utilised for nation
KATHMANDU: Former lawmakers on Wednesday urged Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal to use their experiences and knowledge for development of the nation.
Handing over a memorandum, a delegation of Former Lawmakers' Forum at the PM's residence in Baluwatar today also demanded various services and facilities for them from the state.
The delegation led by the Forum's Chairman Omkar Prasad Shrestha had expressed with the PM that the former MPs wanted to be active for the nation, but they should also be taken care of.
In response, PM Dahal said former members of the Parliament should play necessary roles for development and political stability of the nation.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister also requested the former MPs to support the government for its initiatives for development, according to PM's press advisor Govinda Acharya.
The PM responded to the demands for facilities positively and assured to take appropriate decisions in consultation with the stakeholders, according to the Forum's General Secretary Shankar Nath Adhikari.
