Former minister remembered

The assistant minister of Culture, Tourism and Civial Aviation, Yankila Sherpa, lauded the contributions made by the late Chhiring Tenjing Sherpa, a former assistant minister of Home and founder vice-chairman of the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA), for the uplift of the people from the indigenous communities. “As a politician and social worker, Sherpa made remarkable contribution for the uplift of the indigenous people,” she said at a condolence meeting. The meeting was organised by the Nepal Mountaineering Association to mark the seventh day of Sherpa’s death. The tourism sector has lost its hero who did a lot of work for the development of the sector, she further said. Lauding contributions made by the late Sherpa for the development of Lumbini, Nabaraj Subedi, a leader of the Rastriya Janashakti Party, said that his party had lost a consistent fighter. Lama Pasang Sherpa, a Rajsabha member, said that Sherpa was a multi-faceted personality. “The youths can draw inspiration from him.”
