Four held for fraudulent activities from assorted Kathmandu locations

KATHMANDU: Police on Wednesday arrested four persons for their alleged involvement in various fraudulent activities from assorted locations of Kathmandu Valley.

Rakesh Shah (29) from Bardibas-2 of Mahottari was arrested for selling a Kathmandu-Sindhuli bus ticket worth Rs 500 for Rs 1,000. Police had nabbed him from the Ratukamala Ticket Counter in Koteshwor, KMC-35 today.

In another case, Rajan KC, a permanent resident of Panauti, Kavre, has been arrested from Ason of Kathmandu on the charge of swindling people in diguise of a policeman.

Police, likewise, arrested Gamesh Basyal (39), a permanent resident of Purano Jhangajholi in Sindhuli district, from Purano Bus Park, KMC-30 after he was found exchanging new banknotes for the commission.

Police seized Rs 25,000 from him.

The 73-year-old Kumar Dangol, a permanent resident of Gokarneshwor Municipality-12, was arrested from Sundhara, KMC-22 over the same charge.

Police confiscated Rs 259,000 cash from his possession.

Investigations into all cases are underway.
