BHAKTAPUR: Four employees of Land Revenue Office (LRO), Bhaktapur, were arrested on charge of taking bribe from Kaushaltar on Friday.

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) arrested the LRO Officer Chakra Bahadur Shrestha; two Non-Gazetted First Class Officers Raj Kumar Ghimire and Dinesh Regmi; and a Non-Gazetted Second Class Officer Durga Pokhareli.

They were caught red handed in the act of taking bribe at the Kaushaltar-based Wave Sekuwa Corner restaurant at around 7:00 pm yesterday, informed CIAA.

According to CIAA, a consumer had filed a complaint against the land Revenue Officer Shrestha, for intentionally giving unnecessary trouble while processing his application.

Shrestha had allegedly demanded Rs 50,000 from the consumer to process his application and further arranged the exchange of processed application with the amount in the restaurant, CIAA informed.

Meanwhile, the arrestees are in the custody of CIAA for further investigation.
