Four women felicitated

Kathmandu, March 8:

On the 97th International Women’s Day, Maiti Nepal today honoured four women for their contribution to the society.

During the function, Radha Devi Tuladhar, the ‘first’ women taxi driver, Poonam Baskota, the ‘first’ women cameraperson, Goma Pokhrel, a technician and Sanu Maiya Shrestha, a small hotel entrepreneur were felicitated with letters of appreciation and cash prizes.

Hasta Khadka, acting director of Maiti Nepal felicitated them for their hard work, dedication and their contribution to the society.

Sumitra Shrestha, a staff of Maiti Nepal, said: “The Women’s Day spreads a message for protection of women’s rights.” She stressed that women should be given equal rights and opportunities.
