France ready to help Nepal

Kathmandu, October 5:

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, KP Sharma Oli, paid a courtesy call on president of the French Constitutional Council, Pierre Mazeaud, at the latter’s office in Paris on Tuesday, the Nepali Embassy in Paris said in a press release issued yesterday. At the meeting, Mazeaud said France is ready to support the peace process in Nepal.

Oli and Mazeaud discussed matters of bilateral interests.

Oli also held separate meetings with director-general of the UNESCO, Koichiro Matsuura, and chairman of the executive board of the UNESCO, Zhang Insheng, at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris and discussed matters of mutual interest.

Matsuura said he would consider supporting Nepal in the field of education.

Oli also thanked Matsuura for his support for the movement for democracy and press freedom in Nepal.

The Deputy Prime Minister also met senator Robert-Denis Del Pichhia.
