KATHMANDU, APRIL 8

Nepal Police have handed over a French national, who was found stranded on the premises of Pashupatinath Temple, to the Department of Immigration.

According to Kathmandu Police spokesperson Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, a police team traced the individual after a video showing the French national in a stranded condition at Pashupatinath went public, and subsequently handed him over to the Department of Immigration.

"Following the circulation of the video depicting the French citizen in a helpless state, our inquiry revealed that none of his belongings had been stolen or looted. Therefore, we handed him over to the Department," he said.

Police further stated that the French national had been residing in Nepal for the past six years with his Nepali spouse.

The couple had reportedly left their passports, mobile phone, laptop, and other belongings at the hotel where they were staying due to financial constraints.
