Kathmandu, June 8:

Unable to bear the severe fund crunch, the Daleki Secondary School at Samakhushi and the Catalunya School at Manamaiju, catering to the students from poor financial conditions, is in the verge of closure putting at stake the future of some over 400 students and 75 staffs.

The two schools were operated through fund availed by Vicki Educational and Development Foundation Nepal (VEDEFON) a nongovernmental organisation and now they may shut down any day because the the NGO has no fund to run the schools.

It has been some seven months that Vicki Subirana Sherpa, president of the Barcelona based Vicki Sherpa EduQual Foundation stopped sending the fund raised in Spain and none of the 75 staffs of the schools have received their salaries and other benefits, this was informed at a press meet organised by the victimised staff today. The VEDEFON board members have held Vicki responsible for all the problems and say they would be compelled to take legal action against her if she does not respond within June 15. However, Vicki, speaking to a Spanish journalist from Spain, said she had reached an agreement last November with the VEDEFON officials of Nepal to close down all the projects. Vicki, however, denied to talk with the Nepali reporters.
