Funds raised for air ambulance

KATHMANDU: A week-long Maha Yagya organised to manage funds for air-ambulance service and food bank for the districts concluded in Kathmandu today.

“Around Rs 100 million has been collected during the Yagya,” said Parbati KC, president, Food for Health Nepal. The NGO aims to collect Rs 500 million for

the project within a year.

KC said funds would be collected also for the aid of those displaced by the recent floods.

Talking with The Himalayan Times, she said the programme would be conducted in five development regions. Fifty thousand life memberships would also be distributed to help make the project a success.

Until another arrangement, Fishtail Air has agreed to airlift patients with critical illnesses from remote districts.
