Gang loots property
Kathmandu, December 2:
A group of unidentified persons last night looted property worth three lakh rupees from a house owned by Shanti Giri at Naya Bazaar, Kathmandu, police said.
According to the police, three masked persons broke into the house and took away valuables from Giri’s house. “They brandished pistols and took the family members under control before looting the property,” the police said. The armed gang made away with Rs 85,000 in cash, eight tolas of golden jewellery, three mobile sets and a digital camera from the house, the police said.
Also last night, thieves made away with property worth Rs 123,000 from a house owned by Narabhupal Khatri at Sankhamul. “There was nobody in the house when the theft took place,” the police said. The thieves took away Rs 34,000, a laptop computer and a mobile set from the house. Investigations are underway, police added.
