KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 18

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Devraj Ghimire, has urged all citizens to unite in lifting the country out of its current crisis. He also advised the interim government to move forward by addressing the prevailing challenges.

Speaker Ghimire made these remarks while speaking to the media after inspecting the fire-ravaged Federal Parliament Building on Thursday. He was accompanied by Deputy Speaker Indira Ranamagar.

The New Baneshwor-based Federal Parliament Building was set ablaze and vandalized during the Gen-Z protests on September 8 and 9.

Expressing grief over the incident, Speaker Ghimire lamented the extensive loss of lives and property across the nation.

According to Article 91 (6.a) of the Constitution, the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the HoR will remain in their positions until the day before nominations are filed for the next HoR elections, following the dissolution of the House.
