KATHMANDU: A woman died after a scooter she was riding on met with an accident in Battisputali of KMC-9 on Wednesday, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Bina Kumari Thapa (27) of Musikot Rural Municipality-2 of Gulmi district,  currently residing in Dhapasi, Katmandu.

According to police, the tanker (Ba 55 Pa 1387) containing water hit the two-wheeler (Ba 2 Kha 894), injuring its rider Thapa at Battisputali today.

Critically injured Thapa was rushed to the Mahankal-based Bir Hospital where she breathed her last during the course of treatment, informed police.

Meanwhile, police have impounded the vehicle and detained its driver for further investigation, said police.
