Global tender for petroleum exploration: Industry Minister
KATHMANDU: Industry Minister Nabindra Raj Joshi on Friday informed that a global tender would be called for petroleum exploration by June 29, 2017.
A total of 10 sites have been identified across the country from Dhangadhi to Biratnagar to extract petroleum and a global bidding would be announced for its exploration, he said at a press conference in the Capital.
Stating that minerals would play a great role in the economic development of the country, he said preparations were underway to operate zinc and lead industries in Rasuwa.
The minister said the government would invest in establishing a special industrial area (if anyone wants it) on the basis of the nature of the industry to be set up, investment and employments it will generate.
He also informed that preparations were underway to operate iron industry in Dhauwadi area in Nawalparasi.
