KATHMANDU, MAY 29

The government has announced a provision of free visas for foreign students pursuing higher education in Nepal.

The proposal was introduced in the budget for the fiscal year 2082/83, presented by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel in the Federal Parliament today.

This marks the first time that visa-free arrangements have been facilitated for international students in Nepal-an initiative aimed at encouraging more foreign nationals to choose Nepal as a study destination.

The government has adopted a policy to attract international students to various universities across the country.
