Govt asked to carry out SC verdicts

KATHMANDU: Pro Public, an NGO, advocating for justice and rule of law, has expressed its disappointment over the non-enforcement of dozens of verdicts pronounced by the Supreme Court that concerned social justice.

Holding a press conference here on Friday, the NGO drew the attention of the government towards the non-enforcement of the

verdicts.

“This is a shameful situation that the government authorities are not abiding by the apex court order,” said advocate Prakash Mani Sharma, executive director, Pro Public.

The verdicts passed were related to protecting the interest of the working women in dance restaurants and bars, prohibition of smoking

in the public places, disability, financial disciplines in public offices and protection of

historical places across the nation.
