Minister says govt doing remarkable job for sports dev

KATHMANDU: Minister for Youth and Sports Daljit Shreepaili today said that the government has done a great job for the development of sports sector.

Inaugurating a Taekwondo Training Programme organised by Nepal Taekwondo Association in the Capital today, Minister Shreepaili said that the government was committed to develop the country's sports sector.

He further stated that the Ministry has initiated job for hospital construction for sportspersons, establishment of a sports university, sports incentive allowance, health care insurance, distribution of identity cards, construction of sports ground in each schools and construction of the stadium in all provinces.

The government has also forwarded different sports programmes targeting the orphan children.

On the occasion, National and International Sportsperson Association Chairman Deepak Shrestha praised the taekwondo event conducted for the orphans. "It will play a crucial role to boost the morale of the orphan children."

The programme would continue for 10 months. As many as 250 children from eight different organisations are taking part in the event.
