* COVISHIELD, Vero Cell, and AstraZeneca are administered in all three districts of Kathmandu Valley * Three-month-pregnant women are also advised to have the Covid-19 vaccination

KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 9

The government is vaccinating all persons above 18 years that have not yet received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine in all three districts of Kathmandu valley from today.

All eligible persons will be administered with three Covid-19 vaccines -- COVISHIELD, Vero Cell and AstraZeneca.

With the arrival of the new and highly contagious variant of Covid-19, Omicron, health authorities are scrambling to vaccinate as many people as possible in the valley in a bid to curb its spread.

Issuing a notice on Wednesday, the Ministry of Health and Population also urged all three-month (above) pregnant women to get jabbed as well.

Armed Police Force Hospital, Balambu; Sahid Memorial Hospital, Kalanki; Lhotse Building, New Buspark; Birendra Army Hospital, Chhauni; Nepal Police Hospital, Maharajgunj; Bir Hospital, Maha Bauddha; Vayodha Hospital, Balkhu; Sukraraj Hospital, Teku; Paropakar Hospital, Thapathali; Civil Hospital, Minbhawan; Apex Polyclinic, Jadibuti are among the eleven vaccination centres established in Kathmandu district.

In Lalitpur, the Covid-19 vaccine will be administered at Patan Hospital, Chawa Bahal Public Health Department, Sainbu Health Post, Lubhu Primary Health Centre, Imadol Health Post, Bhattedanda Health Post, Chaughare Health Post, Bajrabarahi Chapagaun Hospital, Badegaun Primary Health Centre, Lele Primary Health Centre, and Gotikhel Health Post.

Meanwhile, just two immunization centres in Bhaktapur will give the vaccine: Nepal Korea Friendship Municipality Hospital in Thimi and the Khwopa Hospital in Chyamasingh.

According to MoHP, all vaccination centres in Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts will administer vaccines from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on all days except for public holidays while Nepal Korea Friendship Municipality Hospital will only administer vaccines on Wednesday and Friday from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.

The health ministry has urged all eligible persons to visit the nearest vaccination centres as soon as possible.
