Govt yet to endorse draft of interim statute: Badu

Kathmandu, January 12:

The government has not yet endorsed the draft of interim constitution since it is yet to get the names of the prospective legislatures in the interim parliament.

This was revealed by State Minister for Information and Communication, Dilendra Prasad Badu today during a press conference at his ministry. Badu was briefing the media about yesterday’s cabinet decision.

The government has decided to allocate over Rs 50,000,000 to reconstruct the destroyed police posts and has also decided to create new posts for 1,996 policemen to be recruited by the Nepal Police.

The cabinet has also formed a nine-member Company Advisory Board, under the chairmanship of Madhav Prasad Poudel, Secretary at the Prime Minister Office and Council of Ministers, to suggest the government to improve and enhance the capability and quality of the administration in the companies.

Badu also said that a 46-member high-level committee has been formed under Foreign Minister KP Oli to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Nepal-Sri Lanka diplomatic ties. The government has also decided to provide Rs 10 million as loan to the management of Biratnagar Jute Mills with a view to make necessary arrangements to operate the Mill. Briefing media about yesterday’s cabinet decision, Badu said the cabinet has decided to introduce new depreciation on annual taxes on vehicles and exempt fines till January 29 as per the demands of transport entrepreneurs.
