Guinness record claimed
KATHMANDU: Uttam Moktan, a member of Bishwo Darshan Abhiyan, on Sunday claimed to have set a Guinness World Record for performing Yoga continuously for 50 hours and 15 minutes non-stop, demonstrating various yoga postures in Kathmandu.
Yogaraj CP, an Indian yoga instructor based in Hong Kong, had broken the record for the ‘Longest Yoga Marathon (Male)’ for 40 hours and 15 minutes non-stop in February.
Moktan’s yoga marathon started at 11:00 am on December 17 till 1.15 pm on December 19 in Balmiki Vidhyapith, a press statement said.
On the occasion, Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya, secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, expressed his commitment to honour Moktan for his extraordinary performance.
However, it is yet to be verified and recognised by the Guinness Book of Records.
