Maoists sending Haribol Gajurel in Oli Cabinet, to get Agriculture Ministry
KATHMANDU: UCPN-Maoist has decided to send the party treasurer, Haribol Gajurel, to take part in the coalition government led by KP Sharma Oli.
After he is sworn in as the Prime Minister, CPN-UML Chairman Oli will form a mini Cabinet today. The Cabinet will be extended later.
Gajurel will be appointed as the Minister for Agriculture, according to a Maoist source.
A meeting of the Maoist party's office-bearers held this morning decided to send Gajurel in the government for now.
The party, however, has not made any decision over other names. According to an agreement with the coalition partners, it is said that the party will have six ministers including a deputy prime minister in the Cabinet.
Gajurel, who was elected as a lawmaker from Sindhuli-3, will take the oath of office and secrecy and assume the new office today itself.
