Hearing on women drivers’ woes
Kathmandu, August 18:
Women drivers, at a public hearing programme, today groused against the tedious procedure of getting a driving licence.Women drivers, narrating their woes, said the lengthy procedure and impractical tests they have to undergo for getting a licence discourage them, even though they are eager to take up driving public vehicles as a career. The girls complained that they have to fill up forms and enclose documents including a blood test report and Rs 200 each time they apply for a licence. They complianed that applicants are made to fail in the tests and they have to apply afresh. They asked authorities to make provisions to validate forms, filled for the first time, when an applicant appears for the tests next time.
