Herb robber arrested
KATHMANDU: Four absconding persons have been arrested on charge of robbing a huge quantity of satuwa herb (Paris Polyphylla), from New Baneshwor of Kathmandu and Banepa of Kavre recently.
Earlier, they had pretended to be the customers and robbed 1,243 kilos of the precious herb worth Rs 8.33 million on January 4 from Kirtipur.
They were arrested by a police team deployed from Teku-based Metropolitan Police Crime Division.
Police have also seized the herbs which were hidden at their rented room in Kageshwori Manahara Municipality-12.
The arrestees have been identified as Tirtha Bahadur Tamang aka Prithvi (23) of Barabise VDC-7, Norbu Pasang Lama (29) of Barabise-5, Dil Bahadur Rumba (22) of the same place and Sangel Sherpa (49) of Karthali VDC-1 in Sindhupalchok district.
Police said the arrestees would be charged under the robbery case.
They have been sent to the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Range for further investigation.
