KATHMANDU, JUNE 11
Home Minister Sudan Gurung on Thursday inspected a holding centre in Balaju where displaced squatter families are currently residing.
During the visit, Gurung apologised for past shortcomings in the management of squatters and assured residents that the government was committed to addressing their concerns.
Residents raised issues related to their children's education and other management challenges at the facility. Following the interaction, the minister directed officials to make necessary arrangements, including deploying police personnel where required.
He also instructed concerned authorities to maintain proper records at the centre and respond promptly to any problems faced by residents.
