House adjourned for a week, Speaker off to Bangkok
KATHMANDU: The Parliament meeting has been adjourned till 1:00pm on coming Wednesday, January 13.
It has been learned that the meeting was adjourned for a week as Speaker Onsari Gharti Magar was going to see her ailing husband, UCPN-Maoist leader Barshaman Pun, in Bangkok of Thailand.
At the meeting that lasted for less than 10 minutes today, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Agni Prasad Kharel tabled the Some Nepal Acts Amendments Bill, 2072.
At the meeting, Speaker Magar had allowed Minister Kharel to seek time for presenting the Bill.
The Bill was presented amid protests and sloganeering by the lawmakers of political parties associated to agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front.
Meanwhile, Speaker Gharti left for Bangkok with UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal today itself.
