House passes condolence motionS on death of ex-lawmakers

KATHMANDU: The Legislature-Parliament on Sunday endorsed condolence motions on the death of former lawmakers Nar Bahadur Thapa and Ram Charan Chaudhary.*

Thapa, who was affiliated with Gorkha Parishad, was elected to the Parliament in 1959 from Kathmandu. The 90-year-old died of cardiac arrest at his house in Syuchatar on September 20.

Chaudhary, who was elected to the Constituent Assembly from Bardiya in 2008, died on October 2. He suffered from stomach cancer and was receiving treatment at Bheri Zonal Hospital.

The House observed one minute silence to pay respect to the former members/

The House shall meet next at 1 pm on Friday.
