House passes condolence motion on Pandey’s demise

KATHMANDU: The meeting of the Legislature-Parliament on Wednesday passed a condolence motion on the death of CPN Maoist Centre lawmaker Bhakti Prasad Pandey.

While endorsing the proposal, the lawmakers also observed one-minute silence in tribute to the late CPN Maoist Centre leader.

Pandey, who was fighting with cancer for around a year, breathed his last during the course of treatment at the Nepal Cancer Hospital, Harisiddhi, Lalitpur on Monday. He was 62.

He was elected in the Parliament from Rupandehi under the proportional representation category.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli were present in the meeting today.
