KATHMANDU, APRIL 22
Inspector General of Police and Chief of National Central Bureau (NCB) Kathmandu, Basanta Bahadur Kunwar, has departed for Lyon, France to participate in the 19th Head of NCB Conference organized by the Interpol Headquarters, today.
IGP Kunwar will participate in the annual Head of NCB Conference, held from April 23 to 25, along with other top officials from Interpol member countries.
He was bid farewell at the Tribhuvan International Airport by Additional Inspector General Tek Prasad Rai, Deputy Inspector General Bhim Prasad Dhakal, and other senior police officials.
The Head of NCB Conference primarily focuses on "INTERPOL NCB'S: A united front against the threat of transnational organized crime," involving discussions among the heads of Interpol's 196 member countries' NCBs, the Interpol Secretary-General, and officials regarding coordination and cooperation on the control of international crime.
In addition to deliberating on contemporary events, crime investigation topics, and capacity building for police personnel, bilateral meetings are also scheduled with representatives from friendly nations such as India, China, Japan, and Malaysia, according to the Nepal Police Headquarters.
During IGP Kunwar's absence, Additional Inspector General Tek Prasad Rai will oversee the daily administrative functions at the Nepal Police Headquarters, the Nepal Police HQ said.
