One found dead
KATHMANDU: Dawa Maharjan, a resident of Mahendrapul, Pokhara, was found dead at Myagdi Kirant Guest House on Wednesday. According to the police, Maharjan had arrived in Kathmandu on Monday and rented a room at the guest house after taking drinks with his friends. He was found dead in his room, the police said, adding that the case was under investigation. — HNS
Two agreements signed
KATHMANDU: An agreement has been signed between the Social Welfare Council and Nepalimed, an INGO, in order to run various development programmes for five years. As per the agreement, minimum of $150,000 will be made available annually for the purpose. Member-secretary of the council Dr Prava Basnet and country representative of the organisation Dr Ram Shrestha signed the agreement. Likewise, a tripartite agreement has been signed by the council, Europe-based Nepalimed and Dhulikhel hospital for running the Dhulikhel hospital project for five years. A total of $7.857 million will be made available for the programme to be run in Kavrepalanchowk, Dhading, Dolakha, Ramechhap, Sindhuli, Sindhupalchowk, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Kathmandu and Nuwakot districts for five years as per the agreement— RSS
