Meet on rights held

LALITPUR: An expert in the international humanitarian law, Geeta Sangraula, has stressed the need for following the norms of the International Armed Conflicts Law and international humanitarian laws. Speaking at an interaction organised by Nagarik Aawaz here on Tuesday, she highlighted the internal crisis facing Nepal. She said many people have fallen prey to the insurgency. "Blaming each other alone will not solve the problem." She said, "Women, children and the aged people have been victimised by the warring parties." — HNS

Anti-Hepatitis-B drive

BHAKTATPUR: A two-day workshop on anti-Hepatitis-B vaccine organised by the District Public Health Office with a view to inform the heads of health posts, sub-health posts and primary healthcare centres about Hepatitis concluded on Monday. On the occasion, the chief of DPHO, Maheshwor Shrestha, said anti-Hepatitis-B vaccination would begin from Chaitra 1. The WHO vaccination coordinator Achyut Lamichhane, said that anti-Hepatitis-B vaccination has been started in different districts of Nepal with assistance from the Global Alliance for Vaccine Immunisation for children under five years. — RSS

Bicyclists tour for equality

LALITPUR: Participants of the nationwide bicycle tour that began on January 26 with a call to end untouchability and building of a equitable society arrived here on Monday. The seven bicyclists led by Man Bahadur Pariyar of Bharatapur-9, Chitwan, had begun their tour from the Mechi bridge at the eastern border and reached Mahakali in the west on February 16. — RSS
