One held with drugs
KATHMANDU: The police on Tuesday arrested Chinimaya Ghale, a resident of Walche-4, Nuwakot, with 12 kg of hashish from the Tribhuvan International Airport on Tuesday. Ghale, who was bound for Shanghai, had concealed the drug in a book, the police said. Meanwhile, 13 kg of gold was found in front of the airport terminal building, the police said.
Tamang new year today
KATHMANDU: The Tamang community is celebrating "Lhochhar", the 2840th new year according to the Lunar Calendar, on Thursday. An organising committee has been constituted to celebrate the Lhochhar. Song competitions, motorcycle rallies, felicitations and cultural programmes will be organised to mark the new year, it is learnt. On the occasion of the Lhochhar, the Tamangs have appealed to the concerned parties to initiate peace talks and put an end to bloodshed.
Temple stone laid
Kathmandu: In a programme held in Mrigasthali in Pashupatinath Preservation Area, Chief Guest Parshu Narayan Chaudhary, chairman of the Raj Parishad, laid foundation stone of a temple to be built on the resting place of Yogi Narhari Nath on Wednesday.
The temple would be 21 feet high and built with stones and lime.
