NC amends statute

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress finally amended its parliamentary party statute with a new provision of deputy leader on Wednesday. The deputy leader will be nominated by the leader following approval by the parliamentary party meeting. The statute has specified a compulsory provision for inclusion of at least one woman among the posts of leader, deputy leader, chief whip and whip. There will be 27-member working committee of the parliamentary party. The meeting also condemned attacks on journalists and NSU cadres. — HNS

KATHMANDU: One more person has died after consuming spurious liquor. Gokul Ghimire, 46, of Kavre died on Tuesday evening while undergoing treatment at Life Care Hospital in Sundhara, 13 days after he was admitted to the hospital. — HNS
