Council’s concern
KATHMANDU: Press Council Nepal has expressed its concern over the series of attacks on various media houses and journalists. Issuing a press release on Friday, PCN Chairperson Narayan Prasad Sharma said the assaults on media were not pardonable, as a problem in a democratic order should be solved employing legal measures. The media body also urged all concerned to take legal action against the guilty and to let broadcasting and publication go uninterrupted. — RSS
Award for Alokshree
KATHMANDU: National Youth Service Fund is to honour popular youth musician Alokshree with Narayangopal Yuva Music Award for this year. The award set up in the memory of late music maestro Narayan Gopal Gurubacharya carries a purse of Rs 30,000 and a gold medal. Alokshree is being awarded for his contribution to the Nepali music. — RSS

Lalitpur: finance Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai on Friday said the government would make public its development programmes within the next few days. Speaking at an interaction, he informed that the government was about to finalise the programmes related to development, literacy and public mobilisation. — RSS
