Child body worried

KATHMANDU: Child Workers in Nepal Concerned Centre has condemned the school bus accident at Gaindakot in Nawalparasi that led to the death of 23 students. A press statement released here on Friday said the bus had been ferrying 80 students, exceeding its capacity. It also accused the school administration of being irresponsibile about safety of children. The body advocating children’s welfare also expressed its condolence to the family of the deceased and asked the school and the government to help in the treatment of the injured. — HNS

Independent Students’ Union-Revolutionary expressed its condolence on Friday over the death of 23 students who died in a bus accident on Thursday at Gaindakot in Nawalparasi. The students’ body also called on the government to provide free treatment for the students of Hill Bird Secondary School in Bharatpur, the Chitwan district headquarters, who sustained injuries. ANNISU-R also asked the government to form a high-level probe committee to look into causes behind road accidents and to suggest measures for minimising them. — HNS
