KATHMANDU:Two unidentified persons robbed two employees of Alliance Pharmaceuticals of Rs 604,000 in Ranibari, Samakhusi, on Thursday. The two assaulted the workers — Aruna Pandey and Kamal Khatri — and looted the cash, according to the company. — HNS

Truck seized

MADHYAPUR THIMI: Cadres of the Youth Force (YF) on Friday seized a truck that was allegedly ferrying goods from Khasa of Tibet by evading tax. “Though the truck was carrying expensive items like jackets and pants, it was found to have paid revenue of cheap items like handkerchiefs and towels,” YF Bhaktapur chief Dipendra Thapa said. YF cadres handed over the truck and the driver to the Metropolitan Police Circle, Thimi. Inspector Shyam Shrestha said the truck was found to have paid Rs 180,191 as revenue to the Tatopani Customs Office. — RSS

TI Nepal panel

KATHMANDU: The thirteenth general assembly of Transparency International-Nepal has re-elected Damodar Prasad Gautam its chairperson for two years. Dr Ganeshman Gurung, Shree Hari Aryal and Komal Bahadur Chitrakar have been elected vice-chairperson, general secretary and treasurer of the organisation. Similarly, Krishna Prasad Bhandari, Dr Bishwo Keshar Maskey, Sarvagya Ratna Tuladhar, Prayag Dutta Tiwari are members of the working committee. Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry will also have its representative in the working committee. — RSS

New RPP VP

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) on Friday nominated Jog Mehar Shrestha vice-president of the party. Deepak Bohora, Parashuram Khapung and Dhruba Bahadur Pradhan have been nominated general secretaries of the party. Bimal Shrivastav and Khemraj Pandit have been appointed treasurer and spokesperson. Thakur Singh Tharu and Dr Khalida Hussain are central committee members of the panel. — RSS
