CIAA directive
KATHMANDU: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Monday directed the Eastern Regional Health Directorate to nullify its one-year-old decision to transfer over 350 staffers. Issuing a press release, the CIAA directed the directorate to nullify the decision based on which director Shrawan Kumar Chaudhari had illegally transferred the staffers. — HNS
CJ releases book
KATHMANDU: Chief Justice Kedar Prasad Giri on Monday called judges and lawyers to promote domestic law even as solution could be found to every problem through the international law. He was releasing a book — Nyayabikasini — published by the Kanoon bimonthly magazine. He added that Nyayabikasini depicted the real history of the nation and the law development of the country. The book is titled with the first codified law of the country enacted by King Jayasthiti Malla in 1380. Senior advocates Prakash Wosti and Kamal Narayan Das claimed that Nyayabikasini was the first codified law in the world as well. — HNS
