Envoy meets GPK

KATHMANDU: Indian Ambassador Rakesh Sood on Monday met Nepali Congress president Girija Prasad Koirala at the latter’s residence in Maharajgunj. During the meeting, Sood advised Koirala to expedite the process of Cabinet formation. The duo also talked about contemporary political issues, said a source close to Koirala. — HNS


SC reinstates Limbu

Kathmandu: The Supreme Court on Monday reinstated Kul Bahadur Limbu as the general manager of the Nepal Airlines Corporation. Limbu was dismissed by the Maoist-led government some seven months ago. A division bench of justices Ram Prasad Shrestha and Mohan Prakash Sitaula issued the verdict overturning the erstwhile government’s decision of appointing Sugat Ratna Kansakar for the post. — HNS


Cable theft on the rise

Bhaktapur: Telephonic services have been disrupted in around 250 households in Balkot and Chittapole for the past two days. According to Nepal Telecom Office, Gatthaghar, increasing theft of telephone cables was the cause of disruption. Suresh Pradhan, NT branch manager, Gatthaghar said it was not possible to resume the service immediately.— HNS
