NC cadre assaulted

BHAKTAPUR: A gang of three persons attacked NC Bhaktapur district committee member Ram Kasula on Monday night. Kasula said three unknown persons stopped his car at Byasitole and attacked him. Police said the attackers also looted five tolas of gold chain from Kasula. Inspector Gajusiddi Bajracharya said one of the attackers, Bishnu Rai, was held and the other two are still on the run. — RSS

Vulture breeding unit

LALITPUR: A breeding centre for vultures, which are facing extinction from Asia, is going to be set up in Chitwan at the initiation of National Nature Conservation Trust (NNCT). Though the trust had signed a pact with the Zoological society of London in 2004, the project will only be set up now after Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation gave its nod a few days ago, NNCT’s official Bimal Kumar Baniya said. — RSS
