IN BRIEF
HSEB’s decision
MADHYAPUR THIMI: The Higher Secondary Education Board has decided to cancel the affiliation with higher secondary schools which do not run secondary level classes within the next six years. Member secretary of the board, Ram Bahadur Karki, said the board has already asked higher secondary schools to run secondary level classes as well. “If they don’t abide by our request by 2014, their affiliation will be cancelled,” he said. Though the board had decided not to provide affiliation to schools which run only Grade XI and XII, it later provided affiliation. — RSS
Exam boycott stand
KATHMANDU: Some 31 students of the College of Journalism and Mass Communication affiliated to the Purbanchal University (PU) said they will boycott the final exam of MA MCJ II semester scheduled to begin from Sunday. Issuing a release on Saturday, the PU students said they will boycott the exam after the PU failed to meet their demand of shifting the exam centre from Kantipur City College (KCC) as MA MCJ II semester students of KCC are sitting for the exam at their own college. — HNS
