Silwal dies at 72

MADHYAPUR THIMI : A senior communist leader of Bhaktapur Chitra Bahadur Silwal who played active role during Jana Andolan-II died on Tuesday evening at his residence at Balkotha VDC-2. Silwal was at 72. He was active in Nepal Communist Party since 2009 BS and participated in various movements waged against the Panchayati System. Silwal’s last rites were performed at the Pashupati Aryaghat. — RSS

Envoy appointed

KATHMANDU: Nawin Prakash Jung Shaha has been appointed ambassador of Nepal to Thailand in accordance with Article 150 of the Interim Constitution of Nepal-2064 BS, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Wednesday. — RSS

Muslims’ demand

Kathmandu: Various Muslim organisations demanded that the government constitute a permanent Haj Committee for the proper management of the Muslims going for a Haj pilgrimage to Mecca every year. The ad hoc committees constituted every year without any written act, regulation or law cannot maintain a transparent jurisdiction, process of constitution and fiscal discipline, the organisations said. —RSS
