Khaa Mey observed

BHAKTAPUR: The traditional festival of Khaa Mey was observed here on Saturday. The historical festival is celebrated by sacrificing a bull to Goddess Nawa Durga Bhawani on the ninth day of Dashain. The bull, kept at the Nawa Durga temple, is chased up to the Bramhayani shrine after performing worship as per Tantrik tradition. The bull is then sacrificed in the name of the Goddess. — RSS

Dashain celebrations

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Embassy in Cairo recently organised a dinner on the occasion of Vijaya Dashami. Nepali ambassador to Egypt, Rambhakta PB Thakur, said at the function that the people from all sections of the society should unite to build a new Nepal. He wished all the Nepalis living in Egypt a very happy Dashain and prayed for their progress. — RSS
