Scribe attack flayed

Kathmandu: The Council House of Tamu Students Nepal (TCHTSN) today condemned the attack on its founder president and adviser Bhim Prasad Gurung. Gurung, also secretary of the Tamu Chhonjha Dhi (TCD), was thrashed at his residence in Kerbani VDC of Rupandehi on Sunday. The student’s body has urged the government to take the attack seriously. The TCD also denounced the attack on Gurung. — HNS

Badis, govt sign pact

Kathmandu: The government and the National Badi Rights Struggle Committee signed an agreement on Monday to work for the welfare of the latter. The talks teams of the government, headed by Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Ram Chandra Poudel, and of the NBRC headed by Uma Devi Badi agreed to form a task force under the leadership of a gazetted first-class officer. — HNS
