KATHMANDU: The National Human Rights Commission on Thursday discussed the rights situation in Kapilvastu with with secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Umesh Prasad Mainali, and IGP of Armed Police Force, Basudev Oli and held discussion on impunity and dereliction of duty by security chiefs in Kapilvastu during the mayhem. — HNS

Poll drive halted

DHANKUTA: Maoists have put a blanket ban on all voter education and poll awareness programmes in Dhankuta until the government concedes their 22-point charter of demands. They have also directed volunteers not to hold any poll awareness training camps. Maoist district party office secretary Chetan ruled out holding such programmes. —HNS
