Killer dad gets jail

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu District Court on Thursday convicted Rajendra Manandhar of killing his 10-year-old son and sentenced him to two years in jail. The tipsy father pushed his son down a three-storey building at Balaju on April 24,2007, a statement issued by the Women’s Foundation said. The boy succumbed to his injuries after 27 days of treatment in Kanti Children’s Hospital and Kathmandu Model Hospital. — HNS

KATHMANDU: Ambassador of New Zealand to Nepal, Graeme Waters, paid a courtesy call on Foreign Minister Sahana Pradhan at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday. Matters of mutual interest were discussed at the meeting, the ministry said. — HNS
